{Life's Experiences}
If you’ve visited my blog over the last almost two years, you will know that I started this blog out of my passion for digital scrap booking as well as an opportunity to share some of my life experiences with the hope of being an encouragement and an inspiration to others. Isn’t it interesting how sometimes situations occur that are painful, hurtful and even devastatingly hard, there’s already a deeper reason for the occurrence – to bring about a life lesson, to change you as a person, to assist in developing your character and sometimes to even bring you closer to God. He doesn’t always use roses and the wonderful things of life to draw you – sometimes it is in those moments of ‘What am I going to do now?’ that you realize He has been there all along, drawing you closer to Him. . .
In our ongoing saga - Chronicles of the Car, Marc shares with me his most recent story ---
Earlier this week, Marc took the vehicle to the shop to have a recurring noise on the front end (drivers side) checked out. (This is the same shop where we have received favor time after time with the repairs needed for our vehicle.)Turns out nothing major (unlike we suspected), just something needed to be tightened (my version of mechanic talk). After the work is completed, Marc is standing and watching a young man back the vehicle out of the garage. While doing so, the mechanic tries to honk the horn -- possibly to let others know that a vehicle is moving out of the garage. At this point, he rolls down the window and starts laughing because the horn doesn’t work.
Marc says that the mechanic didn’t know that the vehicle belonged to him. But, he (Marc) noticed that he was still laughing. Marc stood there, paused for a moment, and thought to himself, “I could be embarrassed at this already humbling situation, overreact with pride, or I could handle this a little differently”.
When the vehicle stops, he leans into the car laughing as well and says, “You see that the horn is broken, why don’t you fix it for me?”
The young man replied, “I don’t know how.”
Marc replies, “Do you realize that there are millionaires that drive vehicles like these? (Not everyone with wealth tries to live like a rock star.) Don’t let the smooth taste fool ya. . . “
